search
For my secondary mathematics students:
Some tips and tools for searching the Internet.
Search Tips
1. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!
2. Use key words.
3. Use synonyms for the subject you are searching.
4. Try a different search engine.
5. Try using a directory instead of a search engine.
6. Be aware of the domain name! Is it a reliable source?
7. Go past the first page of results. Sometimes what you are looking for will be on the third or fourth page.
8. Use rare words. If you are looking for help with calculus, don't just search for math help, search for calculus help.
9. Check your spelling.
10. Use plus and minus signs to indicate whether or not a word is necessary or undesirable.
Search Tools
The most outstanding search engine! Google has advanced search and safe search options.

Yahoo may rank number two but they have the oldest directory around!
